Drivers who use the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) between Interstate 17 in Phoenix and Pima Road in Scottsdale should slow down in the construction zone and use caution while the following restrictions are in place:
Pima Freeway from 56th to 64th Streets
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be narrowed to two lanes between 56th and 64th streets from 9 p.m. Friday, April 3, to 5 a.m. Saturday, April 4. When the closure is lifted on Saturday morning, the eastbound on-ramp at 56th Street and the eastbound off-ramp at 64th Street will reopen to traffic.
Cave Creek Road at the Pima Freeway
- The westbound Pima Freeway off-ramp at Cave Creek Road will be closed and the westbound frontage road will be restricted to one lane west of Cave Creek Road beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, April 3, until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 6.

Detour: Exit the Pima Freeway at Tatum Boulevard, travel north on Tatum Boulevard to Deer Valley Road and west to Cave Creek Road.
Pima Freeway from Hayden Road to Pima Road/Princess Drive
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be narrowed to three lanes between Hayden Road and Pima Road/Princess Drive from 9 p.m. Sunday, April 5, until 5 a.m., Monday April 6.
Pima Freeway at Hayden Road and Pima Road/Princess Drive – Long-term ramp closures
- The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at Hayden Road and the eastbound off-ramp at Pima Road/Princess Drive will close at 9 p.m. Sunday, April 5, and remain closed through early June.

Eastbound off-ramp detour: Exit the eastbound Pima Freeway at Hayden Road and travel south to connect with eastbound Princess Drive/Pima Road.

Eastbound on-ramp detour: Use southbound Hayden Road to eastbound Princess Drive to enter the southbound Pima Freeway.
Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway
- North-and southbound Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, April 8, until the morning of Saturday, April 11.

Northbound detour: Traffic can travel south on Hayden Road to Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, west to Scottsdale Road, north to Thompson Peak Parkway and east to reconnect with Hayden Road.

Southbound detour: Traffic can travel north on Hayden Road to Thompson Peak Parkway, travel west to Scottsdale Road, south to Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and east to reconnect with Hayden Road.
Pima Freeway frontage road at 16th Street
- The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) is restricted to one lane at 16th Street weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, April 10.
Pima Freeway frontage road at 19th Avenue
- The eastbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) is restricted to one lane between 21st and 15th avenues weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, April 10.
Pima Freeway frontage road at 13th Avenue
- The eastbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) has a flagging operation weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, April 10.
Access to 101 Plaza North from westbound Beardsley Road
The driveway from westbound Beardsley Road (Pima Freeway frontage road) west of Cave Creek Road into the 101 Plaza North commercial complex at the northwest corner of Beardsley and Cave Creek roads will close at 5 a.m.Monday, April 6, and remain closed for approximately one month. Pima Freeway from Cave Creek Road to State Route 51
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be restricted to two lanes between Cave Creek Road and State Route 51 from 10 p.m. Friday, April 10, until 5 a.m., Monday April 13.
Pima Freeway from Seventh Street to Cave Creek Road – full closure
- The eastbound Pima Freeway will be closed between Seventh Street and Cave Creek Road from 7 p.m. Saturday, April 11, until 5 a.m., Monday April 13.

Detour: Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto the eastbound frontage road between Seventh Street and Cave Creek Road. Drivers should consider using alternate routes, including Union Hills Drive and Deer Valley Road to Cave Creek Road to enter the eastbound Pima Freeway.
Cave Creek Road at the Pima Freeway
- North-and southbound Cave Creek Road will be restricted to one lane at the Pima Freeway weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, April 6, and continuing until the morning of Friday, April 17.
- The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp and eastbound off-ramp at Cave Creek Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, April 10, until 7 p.m. Saturday, April 11.

Eastbound on-ramp detour: Traffic south of the Pima Freeway can travel south on Cave Creek Road to Union Hills Drive, east to State Route 51 and north on SR 51 to enter the eastbound Pima Freeway. Traffic north of the Pima Freeway can travel to Deer Valley Road, east to Tatum Boulevard and south to access the eastbound Pima Freeway.

Eastbound off-ramp detour: Exit at Seventh Street and use the eastbound frontage road to Cave Creek Road.
Pima Freeway between Pima Road/Princess Drive and Hayden Roads
- The westbound Pima Freeway will be narrowed to three lanes from Pima Road/Princess Drive to Hayden Road from 9 p.m. Sunday, April 12, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 13.
Pima Freeway at Hayden Road and Pima Road/Princess Drive – Long-term ramp closures
- The westbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at Pima Road/Princess Drive and the westbound off-ramp at Hayden Road will close at 9 p.m. Sunday, April 12, and remain closed through mid-June.

Westbound off-ramp detour: Drivers can exit the westbound Pima Freeway at Pima Road/Princess Drive and travel west on Princess Drive to connect with Hayden Road.

Westbound on-ramp detour: Drivers can use westbound Princess Drive to northbound Hayden Road to enter the westbound Pima Freeway.
Ongoing Closures and Restrictions
19th Avenue at the Pima Freeway
- The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at 19th Avenue is narrowed to one lane through completion of widening work.
15th Avenue at the Pima Freeway
- The 15th Avenue bridge over the Pima Freeway is closed to north- and southbound traffic through late 2020 for reconstruction and other improvements.
Pima Freeway Frontage Road at 15th Avenue
- The east- and westbound Pima Freeway frontage roads (Beardsley Road) at 15th Avenue are narrowed to one lane.
16th Street at the Pima Freeway
- Northbound 16th Street is narrowed to one lane at the Pima Freeway, and the southbound shoulder is closed through construction of the bridge at 16th Street.
Cave Creek Road at the Pima Freeway
- North-and southbound Cave Creek Road is restricted to two lanes at the Pima Freeway and the right turn lane at the westbound off-ramp at Cave Creek Road is closed through spring 2020.
Pima Freeway frontage road at Cave Creek Road
- The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) west of Cave Creek Road is narrowed to one lane through construction of interchange improvements.
56th Street at the Pima Freeway
- The north- and southbound 56th Street left-turn bays to the east- and westbound Pima Freeway are narrowed to one lane through completion of bridge widening work at 56th Street.
Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway
- The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road between Hayden and Scottsdale roads is closed through November 2020.

Detour: Drivers can use the westbound Pima Freeway or Legacy Boulevard between Hayden and Scottsdale roads.
