The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on Interstate 8 near Gila Bend beginning Monday, March 23.
Maintenance crews and contractors are scheduled to apply an oil-based sealant on the road southeast of Gila Bend. The work is part of multiple pavement preservation projects on highways across the state.
The following restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Westbound I-8 will be reduced to one lane between Freeman Road (near milepost 141) and milepost 148 beginning Monday, March 23, and ending Friday, March 27.
- Eastbound I-8 will be reduced to one lane between Freeman Road (near milepost 141) and milepost 148 beginning Monday, March 30, and ending Friday, April 3.
- A 16-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
