Loop 202 East restricted Monday, Tuesday nights in Chandler

Santan Freeway narrowed to two lanes for pavement work

A section of eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) near Loop 101 in the Chandler area will be narrowed to two lanes on Monday and Tuesday nights (March 16-17) for pavement improvement work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to use detours while the following restrictions are in place:

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to two left lanes between Kyrene Road and Loop 101 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights (March 16-17) for pavement improvements. Eastbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed. Eastbound Loop on-ramp at Kyrene Road and off-ramp at McClintock Drive closed. DETOUR: To reach northbound Loop 101, drivers on eastbound Loop 202 can exit at Kyrene Road and travel north to eastbound Chandler Boulevard. Drivers also can use the off-ramp to northbound Price Road (near the Loop 101 interchange).

The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

Santan Freeway pavement improvements, including the use of specialized diamond grinding machines to smooth the freeway’s base concrete pavement, are scheduled for completion in areas between I-10 and Loop 101 later this month.
