Plan ahead with 32 miles of US 89A closed east of Jacob Lake on Tuesday, March 10

Crews replacing cattle guard across roadway

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation will replace a cattle guard on US 89A between Page and Fredonia requiring a full closure of the highway on Tuesday, March 10.

The highway will be closed between Jacob Lake (milepost 579) and Cliff Dwellers (milepost 547) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. while crews replace a cattle guard at milepost 566 and work on a drainage issue at milepost 555.

The 32-mile section of 89A will be closed to all motor-vehicle traffic. Only emergency vehicles will be provided access through the work zone. Drivers can use US 89 through Kanab, Utah, as an alternate route.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
