The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for alternating lane closures on north- and southbound SR 89 near the communities of Yarnell and Peeples Valley in Yavapai County. The lane closures are needed while crews complete crack-fill work from milepost 276 to milepost 285.
The following restrictions will occur weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 3, and ending Friday, Feb. 14.
- SR 89 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel.
-
Flaggers and a pilot car will direct traffic through the work zone.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.
The preservation work, which protects against erosion and extends the life of the pavement, is part of multiple pavement preservation projects on highways across the state. Learn more about pavement preservation projects in your area by visiting the project webpage.
Drivers should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
