Highway restrictions scheduled through Jan. 31 for the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) Improvement Project – Interstate 17 to Pima Road

Drivers who use the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) between Interstate 17 in Phoenix and Pima Road in Scottsdale should slow down in the construction zone and use caution while the following restrictions are in place:

Pima Freeway at 64th Street

• The eastbound Pima Freeway HOV lane will be closed at 64th Street from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25.

56th Street at the Pima Freeway

• North- and southbound 56th Street will be closed at the Pima Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27.  Detour: Drivers can use Tatum Boulevard to Deer Valley Drive or Mayo Boulevard to access 56th Street.

 Ramp Closures at the Pima Freeway at 56th and 64th streets

• The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at 56th Street and the eastbound off-ramp at 64th Street will be closed for two months beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, and continuing through the end of March.   
• The westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 56th Street and the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 64th Street will be closed for two months beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, and continuing through early April.  Eastbound Detour: Drivers can use Mayo Boulevard to enter eastbound Loop 101 at 64th Street. Use the eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 56th Street and eastbound Mayo Boulevard to access 64th Street.  Westbound Detour: Drivers can use the westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 64th Street and Mayo Boulevard to access 56th Street.  Use Mayo Boulevard to enter westbound Loop 101 at 56th Street.

16th Street at the Pima Freeway

• North- and southbound 16th Street will be closed at the Pima Freeway nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, Jan. 29, until the morning of Friday, Jan. 31. Southbound Detour: Drivers can use the westbound frontage road to cross Loop 101 at Seventh Street and use the eastbound frontage road to return to 16th Street. Northbound Detour:  Drivers can use the eastbound frontage road to cross Loop 101 at Cave Creek Road, and use the westbound frontage road to return to 16th Street.
