The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who use US 60 (Grand Avenue) near the Surprise and Sun City West areas to plan for closures and restrictions in both directions this weekend and to allow plenty of extra travel time, prepare for detours and expect slow travel.
East and westbound US 60 is scheduled to be closed between the Loop 303 and Dysart Road from 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6. ADOT will maintain access to Banner Del Webb Medical Center from R.H. Johnson and Meeker boulevards.

DETOURS:
- Eastbound drivers on US 60 can exit at Loop 303 and travel north to El Mirage, then head south to Bell Road for local streets, or to Greenway Road to re-access US 60
- Westbound drivers on US 60 can use Greenway Road to access Loop 303 or use northbound Dysart Road to westbound Bell Road to Loop 303.
- Local traffic can use R.H. Johnson/Sunrise Boulevard or Reems Road/Meeker Boulevard. Allow extra time as R.H. Johnson/Sunrise Boulevard and Reems Road/Meeker Boulevard will be restricted to one lane in each direction crossing Grand Avenue.
The restrictions are necessary so ADOT crews can do fog-seal work, which helps protect and extend the life of the pavement. This project is one of several pavement preservation projects scheduled in the Maricopa County region during fall 2019 and spring 2020.
Please proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
