The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers on the Loop 101 (Price Freeway) to slow down, drive the posted speed limit, and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following closures and restrictions are scheduled to be in place:
WEEKEND CLOSURES

FULL CLOSURE: Chandler Boulevard is scheduled to be closed in both directions at the Price Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16.

DETOUR: East- and westbound drivers will use the freeway frontage roads (Price Road) to detour around the closure. Westbound drivers on Chandler Boulevard will be directed north to Ray Road, while eastbound drivers on Chandler Boulevard will be directed south to Frye Road.
- The right lane of the northbound Price Freeway between Chandler Boulevard and Ray Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16.
UPCOMING CLOSURE
- The east- and westbound Chandler Boulevard left-turn bays to the south- and northbound Price Freeway will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17.
ONGOING EXTENDED CLOSURES
- The southbound Price Freeway on-ramp at Elliot Road and off-ramp at Warner Road remain closed until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.
- The southbound Price Freeway on-ramp at Ray Road remains closed until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.
- The northbound Price Freeway off-ramp at Ray Road remains closed until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
UPCOMING EXTENDED CLOSURE
- The southbound Price Freeway on-ramp at Warner Road and off-ramp at Ray Road will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.
ADOT’s $76 million Price Freeway Improvement Project will add one new travel lane in each direction on Loop 101 between Baseline Road and the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway). Construction is scheduled to be completed by summer 2020.

Drilled-shaft operations underway at the Loop 101 bridge at Chandler Boulevard
Drilled-shaft operations are the first step for installing new support columns needed for the bridge widening. The work entails first drilling a hole for the planned drilled-shaft foundation, and then inserting a reinforced steel cage (see bottom photo) into the hole and filling it with concrete. After those operations are completed, a support column steel cage is attached (see photo to the right) on top the drilled shaft.
