Drivers on Interstate 17 near Pioneer Road and who use Daisy Mountain Drive should plan for restrictions and possible delays beginning Thursday, Sept 5, while pavement work is underway. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are in place:
- The northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Daisy Mountain Drive will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. Detours: Drivers in Anthem can use Gavilan Peak Parkway to Pioneer Road or Anthem Way to access I-17. Drivers on northbound I-17 can exit at Pioneer Road to northbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to Daisy Mountain Drive.
- Southbound I-17 will be restricted to one lane from Daisy Mountain Drive to Pioneer Road from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7. Drivers should slow down and be prepared to merge into the open travel lane.
- The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Daisy Mountain Drive will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7. Detours: Drivers in Anthem should use southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to Pioneer Road to access I-17.
- The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Pioneer Road will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7. Detours: Drivers on southbound I-17 can exit at Daisy Mountain Drive and use southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to Pioneer Road.
The restrictions are necessary so crews can mill and repave the roadway and ramp surfaces and install new pavement markings.
