Expect slow travel on State Route 73 in Northeast Arizona for daytime pavement work

Watch for work zone between Whiteriver and Hondah; allow extra drive time

Drivers who use State Route 73 on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in Northeast Arizona should plan for slow travel between the communities of Whiteriver and Hondah while the Arizona Department of Transportation does a pavement-preservation project.

  • Work is scheduled to occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, and on Friday, June 7.
  • SR 73 will be narrowed to one lane only in areas between milepost 342 (just north of Whiteriver) and milepost 348 (Skidmore Road).
  • Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Drivers should expect delays and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
