Lane closures on State Route 169 between Interstate 17 and State Route 69 scheduled to begin June 2

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane closures on north- and southbound State Route 169 (Cherry Road) between the junction with I-17 (milepost 15) and the junction with SR 69 (milepost 1) while a pavement-repair project is underway.

Work is scheduled to occur nightly from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, June 2, through Tuesday, June 4.

  • SR 169 will be narrowed to one lane only during nighttime operations.
  • Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
