The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for alternating lane closures on east- and westbound Interstate 40 near Ashfork between Crookton Road (near milepost 132) and the State Route 89 Junction (near milepost 146) for pavement repair.
The work is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30. The following areas will be affected:
- Work is scheduled to occur on east- and westbound I-40 between milepost 132 and milepost 140 on Monday, and on east- and westbound I-40 between milepost 140 and milepost 146 on Tuesday.
- The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 65 mph.
The restrictions are necessary so ADOT crews can do fog-seal work, which helps to protect and extend the life of the highway pavement.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
