TRAVEL ALERT: Plan for intermittent closures of I-10 travel lanes and ramps in the West Valley through end of January

Also expect some closures of Loop 303 connecting ramps to I-10; be prepared to use alternate routes

Drivers who use Interstate 10 (Papago Freeway) in the West Valley should plan for a series of lane and ramp closures scheduled to begin late Friday, Jan. 11, and continue through the end of the month. The connecting ramps from north- and southbound Loop 303 (Bob Stump Memorial Parkway) to I-10 also will be closed at times, requiring drivers to use alternate routes to access the interstate.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is continuing work to improve the Freeway Management System on 5 miles of I-10 between Perryville Road and Bullard Avenue. ADOT reminds drivers to plan extra travel time and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are scheduled to be in place:

  • Westbound I-10 will be closed at Estrella Parkway from 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, to noon Saturday, Jan. 12. Traffic will use the Estrella Parkway off- and on-ramps to exit and re-enter westbound I-10. Also: The westbound I-10 Bullard Avenue on-ramp will be closed.
  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed at Citrus Avenue and the eastbound Perryville Road on-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, to noon Sunday, Jan. 13. Drivers should use an alternate route such as McDowell Road and re-enter eastbound I-10 at Sarival Avenue. Also: The north- and southbound Loop 303 connecting ramps to eastbound I-10 will be closed. Drivers on Loop 303 can exit at Thomas or McDowell roads and re-enter eastbound I-10 at Sarival Avenue.
  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed at Perryville Road from 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14. Traffic will use the Perryville Road off- and on-ramps to exit and re-enter eastbound I-10. Also: The eastbound I-10 Jackrabbit Trail on-ramp will be closed. Drivers should use an alternate route, such as Van Buren Street or McDowell Roads, to enter eastbound I-10 at Perryville Road.
  • The westbound I-10 Estrella Parkway on-ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. Drivers can use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access eastbound I-10 at Sarival Avenue.
  • Westbound I-10 will be closed at Sarival Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, to noon Saturday, Jan. 19. Drivers should use the I-10 frontage road to enter westbound I-10 at Citrus Road. Also: The westbound I-10 Estrella Parkway on-ramp will be closed. Drivers can use Van Buren Street or McDowell Road to enter westbound I-10 at Citrus Road.
  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed at Estrella Parkway from 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, to noon Saturday, Jan. 26. Drivers will use the Estrella Parkway off- and on-ramps to exit and re-enter eastbound I-10. Also: The north- and southbound Loop 303 connecting ramps to eastbound I-10 and the eastbound Sarival Avenue on-ramp will be closed. Drivers can exit Loop 303 at Thomas Road to McDowell Road to reenter eastbound I-10 at Estrella Parkway; while the Sarival Avenue on-ramp is closed, drivers can use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access eastbound I-10 at Estrella Parkway.
