Lane restrictions scheduled on Interstate 8 near Paloma Road beginning Nov. 26

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on I-8 between Paloma and Painted Rock roads beginning Monday, Nov. 26, at 6 a.m.

Contractors are scheduled stripe the roadway as part of a project to improve pavement between mileposts 96 and 106 on I-8 west of Gila Bend.

The following restrictions will take place in the work zone:

  • I-8 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between Paloma and Painted Rock roads from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, through Thursday, Nov. 29, and from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
  • A 12-foot vehicle restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for delays while construction is underway. Drivers should obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
