Pavement-improvement work along Grand Avenue (US 60) west
of 163rd Avenue in the Surprise area is scheduled from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
weekdays between July 11 and July 27, according to the Arizona Department of
Transportation.
Lane closures and turn-area restrictions will be in place
while crews resurface the highway and turning areas between 163rd Avenue and
the Central Arizona Project canal crossing west of Patton Road. No weekend work
is scheduled.
Drivers who plan to use Grand Avenue within the project’s
work zone should allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge
safely while the following restrictions are in place:

Grand
Avenue narrowed to one lane in both directions in areas between Jomax Road and
Patton Road from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, and Thursday, July 12, for resurfacing of the turning areas at
Jomax Road, 191st and 193rd avenues or Patton Road. DETOUR: Signs will direct drivers to nearby detour routes when turning
areas are closed for resurfacing.

Eastbound
Grand Avenue narrowed to one lane in areas between Patton and Jomax roads from
4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, July 13, for resurfacing of right-turn lanes
along the highway. DETOUR: Signs
will direct drivers to detour routes, including Deer Valley Road and 203rd
Avenue, when other access points are closed for resurfacing.

Grand
Avenue narrowed to one lane in both directions on weekdays in areas between
163rd Avenue and Patton Road from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, July 16, through Friday, July 27, for
resurfacing.
