The Arizona Department of Transportation
reminds the public to attend an informational meeting this Thursday about its
plans to make safety, roadway and bridge improvements along 12 miles of SR 89A
between Sedona and Flagstaff.
The meeting is scheduled from
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road,
Sedona, Arizona. A formal presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
ADOT is planning four projects along SR 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff.
The projects will require traffic restrictions and are being coordinated to
minimize impacts on those who live, work and drive in the popular area.
The
four projects include the rehabilitation of the Pumphouse Wash bridge;
rehabilitation of the roadway pavement from the Sedona city limits to Bear
Howard Drive; the mitigation of potential rock falls onto SR 89A at mileposts
375 and 389; and the installation of erosion control infrastructure in Oak
Creek. Currently, work on the four
projects is scheduled to begin in 2019. Learn more on the project web site.
Project team members will explain the critical safety and improvement work
that is scheduled to occur and share information about proposed construction
schedules and traffic plans. The public can ask questions, provide comments and
speak directly with project team members.
Anyone who is unable to attend the meeting can ask questions or submit
comments in these ways:
- Call the toll-free
