Overnight lane, ramp closures set for Interstate 10 northwest of Tucson the week of June 25

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight lane and ramp closures on Interstate 10 between Sunset and Tangerine roads the week of June 25 for paving work.

Motorists will encounter closures each night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning in the following locations:

  • Westbound I-10 near the Rillito River will be reduced to one lane the night of Monday, June 25. 
  • Eastbound I-10 near Avra Valley Road will be reduced to one lane the night of Monday, June 25.  All ramps will remain open.
  • The westbound I-10 on- and off-ramps will close at Avra Valley Road the night of Monday, June 25.  Motorists must use alternate exits. In addition, the westbound frontage road will close between Twin Peaks and Tangerine roads. Note: This closure will extend until 7 a.m. June 26.
  • Westbound I-10 near Cortaro Road will be reduced to one lane the night of Tuesday, June 26.  In addition, the off-ramp from westbound I-10 to Cortaro Road will close. Vehicles must use an alternate exit.
  • Westbound I-10 near Cortaro Road will be reduced to one lane the night of Wednesday, June 27.  In addition, the on-ramp from Cortaro Road to I-10 will be closed. Vehicles should use the frontage road and enter I-10 at the Twin Peaks Road on-ramp.The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph where crews are working.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
