After the first year of major construction, the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway is 35 percent complete. Construction is currently underway in 75 percent of the freeway corridor. Crews have installed eight miles of drainage pipe, moved 3.6 million cubic yards of dirt and used 2,900 tons of rebar manufactured from recycled steel.
