Interstate 19 ramp at Irvington Road will close nightly for the Ajo Way traffic interchange project April 9-14

The northbound Interstate 19 on-ramp at Irvington Road will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, April 9, through Friday, April 14, for hauling operation. Drivers can use the I-19 on ramps at Valencia Road or Ajo Way instead.

The right lane on northbound Interstate 19, between Irvington Road and Ajo Way, is closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday, April 8. The lane closure is to allow construction trucks to enter and exit the highway.

The work is part of a $40 million project to replace the existing traffic interchange at I-19 and Ajo Way with a modern single-point urban interchange. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2018.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
