Bridge inspections at “the Stack” interchange in Phoenix require overnight roadway and ramp closures

Southbound Interstate 17 will be closed overnight near downtown Phoenix at “the Stack” interchange for routine bridge inspections. The westbound Interstate 10 ramp to southbound I-17 also will be closed while inspections are underway. Drivers should plan to use detour routes while both closures are in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16:

  • The westbound I-10 ramp to southbound I-17 will be closed. Detour: Exit westbound I-10 to southbound 19th Avenue to westbound Van Buren Street to connect with I-17.
  • Southbound I-17 will be closed at Interstate 10. Detour: Exit southbound I-17 at McDowell Road and use the southbound frontage road to connect with I-17. Drivers can also use eastbound I-10 to connect with southbound I-17 at 24th Street near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
