Construction is taking place Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A 45 mph speed limit is strictly enforced, and travel restrictions remain in place 24 hours.
The eastbound Franconia traffic interchange (Exit 13) will be closed through January. Residents will need to exit westbound I-40 and use the State Route 95 traffic interchange.
The $4.7 million project, which
includes construction of four bridge decks, paving and new storm drainage, is
scheduled for a summer completion.
Also, the westbound Haviland rest
area (milepost 23) is closed to travelers for parking lot renovations. The work
is expected to last through January.
The eastbound Haviland facility
reopened to drivers last week after similar upgrades.
ADOT works to inform the public
about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures
or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest
highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center
at www.az511.gov
or call 511, except while driving.
