Roadway improvement work on SR 286 west of Tucson next week

The Arizona Department of Transportation crews will work to improve approximately five miles of State Route 286 near Three Points next week.

Chip-sealing operations from the junction with State Route 86 (Ajo Way) south to milepost 41 will require traffic restrictions from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily, Monday (Aug. 29) through Wednesday (Aug. 31).

A pilot vehicle will guide motorists in both directions through the work area where the posted speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph. Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes.

The work will provide a smoother driving surface and prolong the life of the roadway surface.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511.
