UPDATE: Cool weather postpones start of final paving on I-10 east of Tucson

Paving work scheduled for tomorrow on eastbound Interstate 10 near Benson has been postponed until warmer temperatures arrive.

Final paving was scheduled to be done from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., but the work requires warmer air and warmer asphalt than present conditions provide.

Crews will be working at Empirita Road (Exit 292) in Cochise County on Tuesday (April 26) and motorists traveling in both directions can expect brief and intermittent lane closures throughout the day.

ADOT will provide updated information about the start of paving operations when it is available.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511.
