I-10 ramps at State Route 83 east of Tucson scheduled for closures next week
Paving operations on Interstate 10 east of Tucson will require daily ramp closures at State Route 83 Monday (Feb. 15) through Thursday (Feb. 18).
The following travel restrictions are scheduled for next week:
-
The eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at SR 83 (Exit 281) will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday (Feb. 15) through 4 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 16). During that same time, the right lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed in the area (mileposts 281-282).
-
Both the eastbound and westbound I-10 on-ramps at SR 83 will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 16) until 4 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 17). During that same time, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed in the area (milepost 282-281).
-
The westbound I-10 off-ramp at SR 83 will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 17) until 4 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 18). During that same time, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed between mileposts 282-281.
-
In the early afternoon of Thursday (Feb. 18) the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at SR 83 will be closed until 4 p.m. that day. There will be no eastbound I-10 lane closure in effect during this ramp closure.
During these travel restrictions, motorists will need to seek alternative routes to avoid the ramp closures.
The work is part of a $15.1 million project to repave approximately 17 miles of I-10 in both directions between Tucson and Benson, and replace the westbound I-10 bridge at Davidson Canyon, located 20 miles east of Tucson.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
