Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) Update

Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) HOV Lane Improvement Project Requires Closures and Restrictions This Weekend (Sept. 16-19)

Drivers asked to plan ahead when traveling on the Loop 101 in the West Valley

 

As work continues on the HOV lanes on the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway), drivers should be aware of a number of upcoming restrictions and closures, which include:

•     Southbound Loop 101 closed between Grand and Olive avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 18) for HOV lane project. This will require closing the on-ramp at Thunderbird Road. DETOUR: Traffic will exit at 91st Avenue and travel south to access Loop 101 at Olive Avenue.

•     Northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Bell Road closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 19) for rubberized asphalt paving. DETOUR: Traffic can exit at Thunderbird Road or Union Hills Drive and use 83rd Avenue to access Bell Road.

•     Northbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane between Thunderbird and Bell roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 17) for rubberized asphalt paving. This will require closing the on-ramp at Thunderbird Road. DETOUR: Use Bell Road to access Loop 101.

•     Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp to southbound State Route 51 closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 18) for striping. DETOUR: Exit at Cave Creek Road south to Union Hills Drive east to access State Route 51.

•     Northbound Loop 101 closed between Olive and Grand avenues from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 19) for HOV lane project. This will require closing the on-ramps at Glendale and Northern avenues. DETOUR: Exit at Olive Avenue and use 91st Avenue to access Loop 101 at 91st Avenue on-ramp.

•     Westbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane between 51st and 75th avenues from 3 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 19) for HOV lane project. This will require closing the westbound on-ramps between 51st and 67th avenues and the westbound off-ramps between 59th and 75th avenues. DETOUR: Use frontage road (Beardsley Road) to access Loop 101 at Union Hills Drive, exit at 51st Avenue and use Beardsley Road to access 59th, 67th, or 75th avenues.
