Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramps closed to northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) on Sunday (May 17)

Work related to ADOT’s Loop 101 improvement project in the East Valley

Drivers in the East Valley can expect the following ramp restrictions beginning Sunday (May 17):

  • Both Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramps to Loop 101 northbound in Tempe/Mesa area closed. Loop 202 westbound ramp to Loop 101 southbound and the Loop 101 northbound off-ramp at McKellips Road also closed. DETOUR: Please use alternate routes, including northbound McClintock Drive/Hayden Road or Country Club Drive to McKellips Road to connect with Loop 101 northbound.3 a.m. - noon Sunday (May 17)

The Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) improvement project is adding one new lane in each direction, along with merge lanes between most interchanges, between Shea Boulevard and Loop 202. The entire project is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.
