Beginning January 1, 2025, Adult Protective Services (APS) Registry Verification
Dear Licensees, Applicants, and Stakeholders,
On April 8, 2024, Governor Katie Hobbs approved House Bill (HB) 2764, amending a few Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) related to health care institutions.
Beginning January 1, 2025, A.R.S. § 36-411 requires that residential care institutions, nursing care institutions, and home health agencies verify that a potential employee is not on the adult protective services registry. If a potential employee is found to be on the adult protective services registry, the residential care institution, nursing care institution, or home health agency may not hire the potential employee.
On or before March 31, 2025, residential care institutions, nursing care institutions, and home health agencies must also verify that each employee is not on the adult protective services registry. If an employee is found to be on the adult protective services registry the residential care institution, nursing care institution, or home health agency shall take action to terminate the employment of that employee.
