New Notary Public Training Offered by Secretary of State

Free Online Course, Upcoming Seminars Available

(LITTLE ROCK, ARK.) - FREE online notary training is now available and can be found on the Secretary of State’s website and the new notary management system at http://bcs.sos.arkansas.gov. The online training can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

According to Notary Public Administrator Danielle Fusco, there are currently over 51,000 notaries public in good standing in Arkansas. "Due to the popularity of our in-person notary trainings, we found it prudent to offer the training in a way that it is available to all Arkansans without regard to their schedules and location," said Fusco.

A select number of in-person seminars will still be conducted across the state in partnership with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Centers. These seminars will be held:

  • March 31 – Pine Bluff
  • June 14th -- Jonesboro
  • August 2nd – Russellville
  • August 18th – Mountain Home
  • September 6th – El Dorado
  • September 7th – Magnolia

These trainings are for all levels of notaries.  Each seminar covers topics such as: Using the new notary management system; the application, renewal and amendment process; rules, regulations and proper notary procedures; supplies; and authentication of documents to be used abroad.

The training will assist new and renewing applicants with the required exam that became part of the application process on January 1, 2016.
