Scheduled Sanitary Sewer System Maintenance & Inspections
TREKK Design Group, LLC has been contracted by the City of Fort Smith to perform sewer line cleaning, sewer line inspection, manhole inspection, and smoke testing within a section of the sanitary sewer system as part of Project 25-14-ES1: 2025 SSA Basin 12, Sub-Basin P006. This work will help identify potential issues such as blockages, leaks, and structural defects within the sewer lines and manholes, and is an important step in maintaining reliable sewer service and preventing system failures.
TREKK field crews will begin work on April 20th, 2026. Standard operating times are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM. During this process, crews will access sewer lines through manholes and may temporarily enter private property areas where easements are present. Workers can easily be identified by marked vehicles and uniforms. They will not request access to homes.
Smoke testing is not expected to commence until June or July. Residents will be notified prior to scheduled maintenance and smoke testing in their area.
This project is a reassessment of sewer line conditions in preparation for upcoming Consent Decree-related construction and the City's ongoing efforts to upgrade its sewer infrastructure. Learn more about the City of Fort Smith Consent Decree.
