Annual Sewer Rate Increase Effective January 1, 2026
In February 2025, the City of Fort Smith Board of Directors approved annual sewer rate increases of 3.5% for the years 2025 through 2030. As part of that approved schedule, the next increase will take effect on January 1, 2026.
These adjustments help support ongoing maintenance, system improvements, and the long-term sustainability of the City of Fort Smith’s sanitary sewer system.
The 2026 rate adjustments include:

Sewer Base Charge: increase from $4.66 to $4.82

Sewer Volume Charge: increase from $8.75 to $9.05
