Road Closure on Leigh Avenue Due to Water Main Break

Fort Smith, AR - This is an update to the City’s earlier advisory regarding the water main break currently being addressed by Fort Smith Water Utilities.

Crews are repairing a 24-inch line that ruptured on Leigh Avenue near Sodie’s Wine & Spirits. Currently, this repair is not expected to be completed until Monday or Tuesday.

In response to this break and its impact on the water system, Emergency Phase II Water Conservation Measures are now in effect citywide. These measures prohibit lawn irrigation and other non-essential uses such as washing vehicles, filling swimming pools, and exterior surface cleaning.
