City of Fort Smith Board of Directors Appoints Rebecca Cowan as Director of Internal Audit

Fort Smith, AR - The Fort Smith Board of Directors has appointed Rebecca Cowan as the City’s next Director of Internal Audit. The appointment was made during a Special Meeting held on April 22, 2025. 

Ms. Cowan brings extensive experience in financial oversight and risk management to the role. As Director of Internal Audit, she will lead efforts to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability across all City departments. "It’s an honor to have been chosen for this position," said Cowan. "I look forward to serving the City of Fort Smith." Ms. Cowan’s employment with the City of Fort Smith will begin on May 27, 2025.
