Temporary Water Discoloration – Water is Safe to Use
We are aware of reports of a slight pink or purple tint in the water. This is due to a temporary overfeed of potassium permanganate at the Lake Fort Smith Treatment Plant. While it may look unusual, the water is completely safe to drink and use. Our crews have been flushing the system, and the color should return to normal within the next day or so.
