Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) Public Involvement for Improvements to Highway 71B/Towson Avenue
The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is proposing improvements to Highway 71B/Towson Avenue. The purpose of the project is to mill and inlay Highway 71B (Towson Avenue) from Highway 271 to Highway 64 in Fort Smith while providing additional drainage and ADA-compliant sidewalks.
The purpose of this project is to improve drainage and pedestrian safety.
An open house, in-person, public hearing will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The in-person hearing will be held at Fort Smith Public Library (Community Room). The location address is 3201 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR.

This project website will provide a video presentation, the ability to view and download meeting materials and exhibits, and a place to provide online comments. All exhibits and information presented on the website will also be available at the in-person hearing.
The public is invited to visit the project website at their leisure. We also invite you to participate anytime during the in-person public hearing's scheduled hours to view exhibits, ask questions with staff, and offer comments.
