Processing Fees
Payment Policy Update
Beginning March 1, 2025, the City of Fort Smith will no longer absorb the cost of transaction and processing fees for payments made via credit and debit cards. These fees will now be the responsibility of the payer at the time of the transaction. Citizens can avoid paying transaction fees by choosing other payment methods such as ACH, cash, or check. The City will continue absorbing ACH processing fees.
No-Fee Payment Options
ACH - ACH is the most secure and cost-effective way to make payments for City services. Set up ACH payments online by visiting Payit.FortSmithAR.gov or contact your bank today!
Cash / Check – There’s never a fee for paying with cash or check. Visit us at 623 Garrison Ave to pay in person or drop a check at one of our convenient dropbox locations.
