Military Compatibility Area Overlay District
 The Fort Smith Board of Directors will consider the Military Compatibility Area Overlay District (MCAOD) at their June 18, 2024 meeting. The MCAOD proposes regulations regarding development and construction around the airport in conjunction with the new military mission.
When: Tuesday, June 18th at 6:00pm
Where: Blue Lion 101 North 2nd Street
Points of Interest:
- All new construction of noise sensitive land uses will require compliance with the sound transmission class for the noise contour with which it is located. (Figure 3)
- All development by and sale to non-US foreign entities of property contiguous to property owned by the Fort Smith Regional Airport requires Board of Director approval. (Figure 4)
- Prohibition of searchlights or similar high intensity lighting prohibited within the Runway Buffer. (Figure 2)
