City Administrator, Carl E. Geffken, Appointed to Serve on National League of Cities Federal Advocacy Committee and Small Cities Council
Fort Smith, AR - Carl E. Geffken, City Administrator of Fort Smith, Arkansas has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Federal Advocacy Committee and the Small Cities Council. Administrator Geffken was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities on taxes that affect cities, towns, and villages, voting and voter protections, advancing housing finance legislation, and more. The appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor David Sander of Rancho Cordova, CA.
"I'm very honored to join the NLC's Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee and the Small Cities Council," said Administrator Geffken. "This role is a significant opportunity for Fort Smith to influence national policy, and I look forward to advocating for our city's needs and contributing to meaningful change at a national level."
As a member of NLC’s Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Federal Advocacy Committee and the Small Cities Council, Administrator Geffken will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities, towns, and villages before Congress, with the administration and at home.
