Third arrest in May 5 shooting incidents
20-year-old Definus Israel is in custody
Fort Smith, AR - Fort Smith Police detectives developed 20-year-old Definus Israel as a suspect in the shooting incident that occurred in the 1100 block of N Albert Pike Avenue on May 5. This incident was the catalyst for the gunfire reported throughout the city that morning and culminated with 24-year-old Michael Collier being seriously wounded on Marshall Drive.
On Wednesday, May 11, detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Israel for terroristic act. On Wednesday, May 18, he was tracked to Fayetteville, arrested without incident, and transported back to the department. At the conclusion of his interview, he was booked at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
