Get Involved In Comprehensive Planning!

In August, we met with citizens to get feedback on a new comprehensive plan. We have compiled that information and want to share it with you and discuss it more. Please plan to attend one of the following citizen engagement meetings. 

Don't Flush It, Stuff It or Dump It!

Want to get rid of leftover yard fertilizers, cleaners, paint cans, or old electronics? Bring it to the second Household Hazardous Waste Day this Saturday, Oct. 21 at Camp Bessemer, 3295 King Street, 35023, or Camp Ketona, 121 County Shop Road, 35217. Below are examples of what to bring, but if you have questions call 205-325-8741. We also have a short podcast about the day! 

Response to Jefferson County Sheriff

Last week the Jefferson County Sheriff issued a news release saying the County Commission cut the Sheriff's budget for the coming year. That is factually not correct. Please read the County's response to the news release by viewing the following link. It is in the "news" section on the County's website. 

Report Potholes or Illegal Dumping with the "MyJeffCo" App

Do you want to report a pothole, or illegal dumping in unincorporated Jefferson County? Use the "My JeffCo" app! Just search for My JeffCo in the app store. There is a version for IOS or Android phones. It's easy to use and you can even include pictures and tag a specific location.   Click on the picture and it will take you directly to a download page with a quick tutorial video.   It's the quickest way to get items reported!
