Woooo-hooooo!! The Alabama State Parks have once again earned Certificate of Excellence and Hall of Fame accolades from Tripadvisor. These awards are presented to approximately 10% of total businesses on Tripadvisor that have consistently achieved great customer reviews over the past year. This is a big deal to us as we continue to use visitor feedback to move us forward. Thanks for your support.

DeSoto State Park has partnered with Screaming Eagle Zip lines and Aerial Adventures to offer a sky trail in the trees. Get a bird’s eye view of the local wildlife. Enjoy six zip lines and seven sky bridges. Make your plans.

Let's hear it for the Dads! Check out these Father's Day park events:

Don't forget to purchase a new Alabama State Parks car tag in 2019. Last names that begin with the letters I and M renew during the month of June. Last names with the letters L and P renew in July. For all you boat owners, we also have a boat tag and the same rules apply. This is a new form of much needed revenue for us.

The Alabama State Parks Foundation is seeking members. This new organization will raise money for all 21 parks to enhance programming, facilities and parks experiences.
To celebrate the birth of the Alabama State Parks Foundation, you can join others in becoming a “First Friend and Founding Member” of the Foundation.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile recently presented Meaher State Park in Spanish Fort, Alabama, with a certificate of appreciation for their partnership. The local sector uses the boat launch regularly for practice drills, setting channel markers and provides free boat inspections for the public.

Help us celebrate the State of Alabama Bicentennial!
The Alabama State Parks will celebrate 200 years of Alabama statehood on the 200^th day of 2019 – Friday, July 19 – by declaring it Bicentennial Day at Alabama State Parks. On that day, Alabama’s state parks will offer free admission, free parking and a 20 percent discount on overnight accommodations.

Teacher and education workshops are a part of our mission to share our knowledge. We offer workshops that focus on providing participants with a lot of great environmental education activities that teach about wildlife. Check out these upcoming classes:
