Take a Hike: Waterfalls Tour & Easy Hike Join JSU Field School and Desoto State Park staff on a tour exploring Little River Canyon National Preserve and Desoto State Park waterfalls. Easy to moderate hikes on rocky dirt trails. Will see some well-known waterfalls as well as some hidden treasures. Dates & Times: March 13, 2019 (9am-2pm) & March 19, 2019 (9am-3pm). Plant Discovery Hike Join naturalist Robert Wilson “The Traveling Herbalist” from Seven Pines Survival for an experiential journey within the forest, taking in every opportunity to learn more about the natural world. On this meandering hike Robert will identify many native plants of the southern Appalachians and will be teaching you how to recognize the natives found in the park. Tumbler Glassblowing Class This introductory glassblowing class teaches many fundamentals through the process of making a small tumbler (cup). Plenty of hands-on experience from choosing colors, gathering, paddling, blowing and shaping is gained in this four hour experience. Date: March 16, 2019 Time: 9:00-1:00 Cost : $145. Sculpt your Own Flower Class Orbix Hot Glass is a glass blowing studio and gallery on Lookout Mountain that offers fine decorative and functional glass, as well as very popular glass blowing classes. Women’s Guided Backpacking Trip for Beginners Have you ever wanted to get into backpacking, but you were not sure where to start? If so, this trip has everything you need to get started-learn all you need to know so that you can head out on your own outdoor adventure! A Spring backpacking class just for women, and a great class for beginners/intermediate.
