Another improvement project underway.................the campground renovation at Cheaha State Park is well underway and should be ready this Spring. We continue to listen to the comments from our supporters and are taking action on improving amenities throughout the park system. Thank you for our Amendment 2 victory in 2016 that allows us to upgrade our facilities and provide you with a better park experience.

2019 marks the #AlabamaStateParks 80th Anniversary of serving the public. We will continue to improve our facilities so that you can enjoy your parks more than ever. As you enjoy your parks, help us celebrate Alabama's 200th birthday. This bicentennial milestone promotes natural beauty, diverse people and rich history of the State of Alabama.

Don't forget to purchase a new Alabama State Parks car tag in 2019. Last names that begin with the letter B renew during the month of February. Last names with the letters C and E renew in March. For all you boat owners, we also have a boat tag and the same rules apply. This is a new form of much needed revenue for us. Watch the video.

If you are interested in helping support the Alabama State Parks trail system consider donating to the Dirt Pass Trail Crew Program. Your $35 online donation will go specifically to the improvement of our trails. Each donating Dirt Pass member will receive a cool, new Trail Crew t-shirt to show your pride in our program. Congrats to the 2019 #AlabamaStateParks Eagle Award Winners. The winners were honored for their special contributions to the State Park system. Pictured are: Robert Murphy, Tami Reist, Greg Lein, State Parks Director, Linda Reynolds and Joe Songer.

Cheaha State Park had the privilege of hosting a group of Brazilian active duty military members recently. This is another example of how we appreciate our military friends. Learn how you can be a support our military friends by becoming a donating sponsor to our Parks for Patriots program.

It's time to dust off the golf clubs, call your buddies and hit the course. The #AlabamaStateParks provides courses at Joe Wheeler, Lake Guntersville and Oak Mountain State Parks.
