DeSoto State Park and park partners like Little River Canyon National Preserve, Jacksonville State University Field School, One World Adventure Company, Little River Arts Council, Seven Pines Survival and more, team up to bring you many fun events throughout the year.

Campfire Talks, Classes, Demonstrations, Guided Interpretive or Fitness Hikes, Tours, Outdoor Adventures, Workshops......topics covering art, science, nature, and much more!

Most programs are free, or charge a small supply fee.

DeSoto State Park also adds community events such as classes, festivals, workshops, local craft shows, etc to our calendar so that we can help our guests and visitors make their visit to Lookout Mountain, Alabama even more memorable.

Pontoon Boat Rides

Pontoon Boat Rides at DeSoto Falls
During Mentone's Colorfest
Festivalgoers can enjoy the brilliant colors of the changing riverbanks with a scenic boat ride on Little River. The boat will leave from DeSoto Falls about every 45 minutes and travel up river before returning. Boat rides will be going on throughout the festival. Beginning Friday afternoon through Sunday. Dates: October 19th, 20th, 21st Hours: 19th: 1:00 to dusk. 20th: 10:00 to dusk. 21st: 11:00 to 4:00 * All dates & times are weather dependent. central time zone Where: DeSoto State Park-DeSoto Falls near Mentone, Alabama (Falls area is 7 miles from the main part of the park) Fee: $15.00 per person. Tickets are sold at DeSoto Falls by MAPA, no reservations needed. Private rides outside of festival available by reservation.

Visit DeSoto State Park & dine in the historic Mountain Inn Restaurant. This unique restaurant is located in the original sandstone Lodge built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the mid 1930s and is nestled on a canyon-edge overlooking the West Fork of Little River. Friday Night's @ 5:00-8:00 PM.

Before Colorfest in Mentone, Alabama-Hosted by Little River Arts Council. Kick off Colorfest weekend with a FREE concert on Friday night, October 19th, with Ryan Keef & Friends. Presented by Little River Arts Council, the concert will be held at the pavilion behind the Mentone Inn in downtown Mentone. Date: Friday, October 19, 2018 Time: 7:00-10:00 pm Where: Mentone, Alabama, Mentone Inn Pavilion (within 10 miles of DeSoto State Park) Fee: Free and open to everyone!

The Third Saturday Sunset Cruise-In is a great car show, featuring over 200 classic vehicles on display in Fort Payne's historic downtown district. There is a kid zone in the City Park, music across the street from DeKalb Theatre and great food vendors! Date: Saturday Oct 20th Time: 5:00-9:00 pm Where: Downtown Fort Payne, Alabama (within 10 miles of DeSoto State Park) Info: Free admission.

Come join One World Adventure Company at DeSoto Falls for gorgeous views of the colorful fall foliage during Mentone's Annual ColorFest! Perfect for individuals or groups.
