DeSoto State Park and park partners like Little River Canyon National Preserve, Jacksonville State University Field School, One World Adventure Company, Little River Arts Council, Seven Pines Survival and more, team up to bring you many fun events throughout the year.

Campfire Talks, Classes, Demonstrations, Guided Interpretive or Fitness Hikes, Tours, Outdoor Adventures, Workshops......topics covering art, science, nature, and much more!

Most programs are free, or charge a small supply fee.

DeSoto State Park also adds community events such as classes, festivals, workshops, local craft shows, etc to our calendar so that we can help our guests and visitors make their visit to Lookout Mountain, Alabama even more memorable.

Pool Hours: 11:00 to 6:00. $4 per swimmer

Boating at the Falls

The Boat Shack will be open to welcome you! Rent sit-on-top kayaks and canoes to enjoy a peaceful flat-water paddle on Little River overlooking beautiful DeSoto Falls! Can paddle around 4 miles round trip. Perfect for individuals or groups. Life vests & paddles are provided.

Boat Shack Hours: Thursday-Monday 7:00 am-7:00 pm with a launch every 3 hours. more info  video

If you are looking to get your child outside to play, and help them to learn about the outdoors this is what this classroom is all about. SPS wants to get them outside in both an instructive educational setting and in a self-educational setting, to learn about the outdoors. Giving them the chance to participate with nature and to explore, discover, and learn. Pre-register today!
