Did you know that 25% of the #Alabamastateparks staff are volunteers? So many things would go undone if not for them. We appreciate all of the hard work and dedication our volunteers give us. Check out the volunteer section of alapark.com to learn more about this program. Our park supporters and partners that cannot devote time to work on projects can contribute to their favorite State Park directly by donating to the Volunteer Fund. Money can be designated for specific efforts at the park or can be made as a general donation for any volunteer undertaking.

Free yourself from
daily stresses by exploring a park or public land by bicycle with thousands of
others on the same day — Bike Your Park Day, September 30. Ride paved roads or
paths, or hit a mountain bike trail. There’s so much to discover at a slower
pace: reconnect with the natural world.
Don't forget to purchase a new Alabama State Parks car tag in 2017. Last names that begin with the letters J, K and R renew this month. Last names that begin with the letters Q, S and T renew in September. This will be a new form of much needed revenue for us. Yet another great reason why the Amendment 2 victory was so important to us. Now, this money stays where it belongs-at the parks. Watch the video.
