You now have an option of purchasing an Alabama State Parks car tag. Last names that begin with the letter B renew their tags this month. Last names that begin with the letters C and E renew in March. The renewal process remains the same; simply request an Alabama State Parks car tag during the renewal procedure and 80% of your money will go directly to help fund the State Parks (20% goes to normal administrative fees).Yet another great reason why the Amendment 2 victory was so important to us. Now, this money stays where it belongs-at the parks. Thank you Park supporters!

Spring is in the air and golf season is in full swing at the Alabama State Parks. With well designed, affordable golf courses across the state we offer convenience that is second to none. Check out these golf courses:

Take advantage of our Winter Special offering a 25% discount on all overnight accommodations Sunday - Thursday at select parks. This is our way of saying thank you for helping us win the Amendment 2 vote, allowing us to keep our revenue. You can now take comfort knowing your money spent inside the parks will stay where it belongs - at the parks.

The weather for Presidents Day is looking great. Just right for spending the day at an Alabama State Park. Our parks staff always do a good job of scheduling activities for holidays. Check out the ranger guided hike at Monte Sano State Park and the Powell Trail hike at Desoto State Park.

Join us at Lakepoint State Park for "Fins, Feathers & Flowers", a weekend of waterfowl and wildlife, Feb. 24th - 26th. From check-in to check-out this weekend package will be loaded with speakers, field trips and wildlife programs.

Attention all you photo bugs!! Check out the annual "Focus on Nature" weekend workshop at Joe Wheeler State Park. This is a great event with informative lessons taught by professionals that will help you improve all of your camera skills.

Stay up to date with events scheduled at the Alabama State Parks. From the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball at Joe Wheeler State Park to the Polar Plunges at Wind Creek State Park and Oak Mountain State Park we have a little something for everyone. Don't forget about the free boating class at Lake Guntersville State Park.

Once again Cathedral Caverns State Park receives national recognition. The CBS Sunday morning show recently featured the park and closed their broadcast with a two minute video tribute to the caverns and caves of Cathedral Caverns State Park. The beauty inside the caverns is truly special.

Habitat improvement is a primary focus of the Alabama State Parks. Creating habitat that provides optimal living conditions for all animal species is an important part of providing a quality experience for our guests. This video demonstrates how The Department of Conservation and the State Parks use prescribed burns to accomplish this goal.
