We are excited to announce our new voluntary Dirt Pass Trails Team Program. Trail users and trail activities have always been important to us. Over the last decade the trails community has seen steady growth in an area that serves as a gateway activity to the outdoors. The Dirt Pass Trails Team Program provides a means for people to voluntarily financially support this new program.

Saturday, June 4th is National Trails Day and to help us celebrate we will launch this new program at ten Alabama State Park locations. Click and read more about the new Dirt Pass Trails Team Program to learn what it means for you and the Alabama State Parks.

The Screaming Eagle Zip line at Lake Guntersville State park is now open. You can book your reservation in advance using their online booking tool. We want to provide a positive experience for our park visitors and offering new forms of outdoor recreation is part of that plan. Check out our new Screaming Eagle Zip Line video.

Camping has long been a family favorite for the Alabama State Parks. Whether you stay in tents or hook up your RV to our campground utilities, we think it's great that people spend time in the outdoors. Now, we have taken it a step further by providing you with a site-specific online campsite reservation tool for most of our parks. Use this reservation tool to select your park and pick the campsite you prefer. If it's available you can choose it.

Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 4th? If so, visit DeSoto State Park for Great Outdoors Day and let the Alabama State Parks staff showcase all the ways that adventure can be had in the great outdoors. $2 per vehicle for parking. No entrance fee.

Several of the Alabama State Parks have earned the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence award for 2016.
We take great pride that eleven of our parks have earned this coveted award. The fact that it is awarded strictly on visitor reviews is confirmation that our entire staff does their job well. Come see for yourself.

Oak Mountain State Park offers outdoor yoga classes in various times and places throughout the park. The instructors do a wonderful job of creating classes that are different, enjoyable and convenient. They even offer some classes that are dog-friendly. Visit their website to learn more about classes and how you can become involved.

We understand that taking family vacations can be expensive at times. To help with that, we offer park specials that save you money and allow you to enjoy your vacation that much more. It's getting hot outside and we offer all kinds of fun ways to cool down for the Summer.
Travel down to Blue Springs State Park and take dip in the springs or maybe spend the day by the beach at Lake Lurleen State Park. Enjoy an ice cream at Wind Creek State Park on Lake Martin or go fishing at Frank Jackson State Park. How about the pool at Rickwood State Park or a cave tour at Cathedral Caverns State Park?
