Census and Population Updates
Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development sent this bulletin at 02/14/2012 03:10 PM AKSTSocial, economic, and housing data from the 2006-2010 American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates are available on our Web site: http://live.laborstats.alaska.gov/cen/acsarea.cfm. The data are collected from a monthly household survey and replace what was collected during the decennial census.
2000-2010 borough/census area population estimates by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin are available on our Web site: http://labor.alaska.gov/research/pop/popest.htm. These estimates use information from the 2000 and 2010 censuses to improve the time series of annual numbers back to 2000.
