Don’t Miss the 2013 Health Fair in Anchorage!


The AlaskaCare Health Fair is coming to Anchorage! Health screenings will be offered to employee and retiree AlaskaCare Health Plan members, age 18 and older. See a list of available tests.

  • Anchorage, November 2 and 3, 8 a.m. to noon, Alaska Regional Hospital

Flu shots are only available on November 2.

Health Hero: Román Castro


Román’s current wellness goal is to lose 100 pounds of body fat. He started working towards this target in January 2013 by completing a 12-week transformation challenge. Román continued working out after finishing the 12-week program because he realized how amazing he was feeling, how much healthier he was, and how much he enjoyed exercising. As of October, Román has lost about 76 pounds! Read more to find out how Román has lost this weight and inspired others to achieve their wellness goals...

Healthy Recipe: Eggplant Cannelloni

This recipe replaces cannelloni pasta with broiled eggplant to reduce carbs and to give you extra fiber. A creamy goat cheese, olive, and caper filling is rolled up in each slice of eggplant.
