Teladoc—Eleven AlaskaCare Members are Feeling Cooler!

Congratulations to the winners of the Teladoc Registration Campaign!

Ten winners received an RTIC® Day Pack Cooler, and the grand prize winner received an RTIC® Soft Pack Cooler and 2 tumblers. The winners are from Anchorage, Fairbanks, Eagle River, Palmer and Juneau.

With Teladoc, you can talk to a doctor by phone or video whenever you need it. AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan members have 24/7 access to health care for non-emergency conditions by web, phone or mobile app. Effective June 1, 2019, your Teladoc copay for general medical and dermatology consults has been lowered to $0! Teladoc is already part of your AlaskaCare Employee Health Plan, so all you need to do to utilize your benefit, is register your Teladoc® account.

Reminder: Preventive Care

The AlaskaCare Health Plan, in partnership with the Pacific Health Coalition, is offering Health Fairs this fall in five Alaskan cities: Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, Palmer, and Soldotna. The Health Fairs give AlaskaCare plan participants easy access to flu shots as well as convenient blood screening, prostate- specific antigen testing, thyroid testing, vitamin D testing and other preventive care services at reduced rates. Health fair registration opened August 7, 2019.

As a reminder, AlaskaCare Employee Plan members have a preventive care benefit. When you visit a network provider or pre-certify your preventive visit with an out-of-network provider, your costs will be covered at 100%, even before you meet your deductible. Call your doctor to schedule your physical checkup and be on your way to good health.

Supplemental Non-Emergent Surgery Coverage

AlaskaCare has partnered with SurgeryPlus to offer AlaskaCare Employee Health plan members and their eligible dependents convenient travel benefits for non-emergent surgeries. You get access to a network of top-quality medical providers with proven experience in more than 350 procedures across 40 states.

What is included with this benefit?

Surgeons of Excellence
Each board-certified provider has undergone rigorous screening, including specialized training and fellowships, reducing your risk of complications and preventable costs.

Full Concierge Service
Your dedicated Care Advocate will locate the best provider, schedule all appointments, coordinate medical record transfers, and follow up with you post-procedure to ensure you are completely satisfied.

Low Cost
Each procedure is covered under a bundled rate, and the only cost to you is the remaining balance on your deductible, if applicable. 100% of the coinsurance is waived.

Covered Expenses include:

  • Episode of Care received through SurgeryPlus benefits,
  • Airfare for the eligible patient and a companion,
  • Hotel or other approved accommodations,
  • Transportation to/from airports, and
  • Pre-loaded debit card with $25 per diem, per patient(or if you have a companion, $50 per day.)
